Hippos are the second heaviest mammals on Earth. The heaviest mammal on Earth is the Elephant.  Hippos have webbing in between their toes to help with swimming. Well, I really shouldn’t say “swimming”… they do more of a Doggie Paddle. Do you know what makes Hippos truly amazing?? They can breathe, hear and see while they are almost completely under the water. Do you know how they do this? They are able to do this because their eyes, ears, and nostrils are on top of their head and nose.Â
