 An Alligator is a very large reptile.  The alligator and the crocodile appear to be very similar, however, there are ways to tell the difference. First, the Alligator’s snout is shorter than the crocodile’s snout. Second, the Alligator’s snout is more rounded than the crocodile’s snout. Thirdly, the Alligator’s 4^th tooth on the bottom fits perfectly in between the teeth on the top row; however, the crocodile’s 4^th tooth on the bottom sticks out on the side.  You will notice that the crocodile’s 4^th tooth sticks out from their mouth even when their mouth is closed.
